David Leroy Edes "Lee" June 15, 1942 - November 28, 2024; It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Leroy Edes "Lee", a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and member of the Yellow Point community.

Lee passed away on November 28, 2024, in Nanaimo, BC, at the age of 82. Born on June 15, 1942, in Salmon Arm, BC, Lee was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Isabelle Edes, his brother Ted, his loving wife Cecile, and his grandson Jacob.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherry, Michelle (Tyson), and Sandra (Scott), as well as his grandchildren, Cole, Paige, Emily, Larissa, and Gavin.

Lee's life was marked by adventure and dedication to his family and community. At the age of 17, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, serving a three-year tour that shaped his early years. After his time in the Navy, Lee worked in Yoho National Park, creating trails and developing a deep love for the outdoors. In 1965, he moved to Vancouver Island, where he began a long and fulfilling career with Harmac in the shipping department, loading ships and working as a foreman until his retirement.

In his retirement, Lee discovered a new passion for golf, which brought him joy and camaraderie with friends and family. However, his greatest love was his family, and he was deeply devoted to his wife Cecile and his grandchildren.

His kindness, generosity, and guidance will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
