In loving memory ~

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of David Robert Trouton on May 16th, 2024 at Shuswap General Lake Hospital in Salmon Arm, BC. He was surrounded by family and will be greatly missed.

David was predeceased by his father, Franklin, his mother, Eve, and his siblings, Ness, Graham and Joan. His older brother, Allen, currently lives in Sicamous.

David was born in Winnipeg in 1943 and while living in Manitoba was known as an accomplished hunter, fisherman and trapper. A career in underground mining resulted in him settling in Ontario with his first wife, Marie, and their two sons, Shan and Jay. After being widowed in 1972, David moved to his father's farm in Sicamous surrounded by his siblings. His green thumb and hard work ethic flourished as he maintained an extensive garden and livestock. He also worked around town in construction, at the local building supply store and as a handyman and painter.

David became active in the local Bible church where he met Susan Wilding of Malakwa and they were wed in 1978 adding her two sons, Graham and Neil to the family. After Susan was taken by cancer, David married Ruby Kreller in 2008.

David enjoyed playing his guitar and singing in the local church. He was an active member of the congregation and spent much of his time volunteering.

He will always be remembered for his passion for the outdoors, generous nature, sense of humor and love of God and community.
