December 23, 1944 - July 11, 2020
Donna Beverly Booth (née Moffat) was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, 23 December 1944. She died July 11, 2020, at age 75, in her home at Sorrento, British Columbia. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Booth, and her sister, Sandra Broadbent.
Donna received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland (magna cum laude) and worked in accounting between her other ventures as a librarian and bookbinder. Throughout her life, Donna dedicated much of her time volunteering in her community, including the Sorrento Arts Festival as a Director and at the public library. She was selected Citizen of the Year (1992) for Sorrento.
Donna met her future husband in Hartford, Connecticut. They lost touch but met up again six months later in San Diego. David then convinced Donna to marry him. She spent three years with him as a student at the University of Utah, before embarking with him for touring around the world as a Navy wife,
After thirteen years together in different areas of the United States and four years in Naples (Italy), Donna and David moved to Sorrento where Donna could be close to family and the lake. Donna had a love of everything involving books. She especially enjoyed her times with her friends at the Sorrento Book Club and TOPS. Donna was passionate about Christmas, and teaching her great nieces and nephews about investments and finance. Her intelligence and accounting abilities made her a essential partner within her husband's Canadian business projects.
At her request, no formal services are planned. Final interment will be at the Sorrento Cemetery.
