In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mom, early October 16 after a full life of over 94 1/2 years. She is survived by her four sons: Alan (Caren), Jim (Cheryl), Rob (Dale) and youngest son David. She has 5 grandchildren: Myrna, Kim, James, Tyler and Erin as well as 4 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by Dad, Walter Hannebauer, her husband of 57 years, in May of 2007.

Mom was raised on a farm near the small rural village of Plumas, Manitoba through the 30's and 40's. In 1949, Mom and her family moved to Rutland, B.C. (now a suburb of Kelowna) and she fell in love with one of the neighbour's sons, and they married on August 18, 1950.

Mom and Dad moved to Vancouver where they started their family, moving to Ocean Park near White Rock B.C. in 1958, and then in 1964 to Salmon Arm, onto a 20-acre farm. She had a talent for art and tried many different mediums over the years and competed in the local Fall Fair for many decades, with both her baked goods and paintings.

She was one of the founding members of the Deo Lutheran congregation, and she loved volunteering at the Churches of Salmon Arm Thrift Store, where we suspect she came home with most of the "deals". She kept busy after Dad's passing and delighted in her friends at "Painting Class".

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Deo Lutheran Church this coming spring.
