Edith Clara Pankratz was born in Provost AB on October 13 1934. Her two brothers, Warren and Harold (Barb), predeceased her. Her older sister Agnes (Charlie), living in Calgary, survives her. She leaves behind her daughters Leona (Michael), Grace, Connie (Cory) and sons Roger, Cliff (Dawn), Greg (Melody) and Ron (Andrea).
Edith was predeceased by her husband, John Jacob, on October 6, 2018. and her son Gordon (Janice) who went to meet his Lord as a result of a plane crash in Tanzania in 1990. She has 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Edith graduated as a registered nurse from Galt School of Nursing in Lethbridge in 1955. She immediately moved to Hazelton to work at Wrinch Memorial Hospital. She met Johnny Kornelson in Hazelton and they married on June 9, 1956. Eight children resulted.
Edith and Johnny moved to Saskatchewan with their two youngest children in 1985 to farm 3-5 quarters. They began snowbirding to a purchased property in Maricopa AZ after all their children left home. Following back surgery in 2011, Johnny and Edith sold their Saskatchewan farm and became permanent residents in Salmon Arm. Edith was reunited with her beloved ones who've gone before on August 6, 2020.
