January 25, 1944 - June 21, 2019
We would like to celebrate the life of our mother, grandmother, wife, family member, and friend, Elaine Faith Juell, who passed in the Salmon Arm Hospital on June 21, 2019.
Elaine is survived by her children Janice, Lewis, Darwin (Sandra) and Josephene (Scott), 7 grandchildren, siblings Jim (Jean) and Evelyn (Stewart). She is predeceased by her parents Harry and Pansy Lowery, sibling Dennis and husband Clarence early 2019.
Elaine was born on January 25, 1944, in Kelvington SK and attended school in Doe River and Dawson Creek, BC. She married Clarence Juell in 1962 and welcomed 4 kids into their family. They had a grain farm in Alberta near Doe River and Elaine grew a garden abundant in vegetables, fruits and flowers despite the northern climate and wild critters. In 1982, Clarence and Faith moved their family to Salmon Arm BC.
Throughout the years, Elaine was active in many activities around being an engaged mother and homemaker. She had many years of involvement with the Women's Institute, 4-H Clubs and volunteering with the Haney Heritage Park. She was an avid learner and pursued later education and courses in Forestry. She was active in curling and competitive with Senior Horseshoes, including earning medals in the BC Senior Games. Faith was a big supporter at local fall fairs, with winning entries in produce or flowers or grain or acting as a judge.
While her beautiful gardens were a way Elaine has left her mark with us, she also had a passion for photography and travels to various states and warmer countries. She enjoyed sharing her love of crafts and cooking with her children and grandchildren.
Her children remember her as a strong, intelligent, loyal, hard working, loving wife and dedicated mother and grandmother.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2019 @ 4:00 pm at Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, BC. Preceding this a viewing to be held 2:30 - 3:30 pm. Following the service will be a brief interment and then a reception at Bower's Mountainside Room. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Elaine's life. Donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation and Cancer Society.
