Elaine Wilson

June 20, 1940 – May 16, 2019
Elaine Joyce Wilson died peacefully in Salmon Arm on Thursday, May 16th at the age of 78. She will be missed by her sons Daniel Spragg and his wife Debra of Powell River, B.C., Michael Spragg of Salmon Arm, B.C., and grandson Troy, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Elaine was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan. Around the age of 2 her family relocated to the West Coast where she went to school. In March 1958 she married Daniel Arthur Spragg and started a family. Sadly Daniel died in May 1970. In November 1975 she married Jack Wilson and moved to Calgary. Around 1980 they moved to Salmon Arm where they enjoyed their retirement years.
Elaine enjoyed working with flowers and put together many wedding arrangements. She also loved to knit and crochet. Her and Jack enjoyed getting together with friends for home cooked meals, playing cards or simply hanging around laughing at one another’s stories. Her hospitality and generous spirit was well known. Elaine was baptised as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 22, 1955. Her ministry was an important part of her life. Her strong faith in the biblical promise of a resurrection and living in earthly paradise without sickness or death brought her peace. As her own health slipped away she kept her hope near to her heart.
A special thanks to the caring staff at Arbor Lodge and the health care professionals at Hillside Village for their support and understanding. Thanks to Dr. Bonthuys for his kindness, patience and personal touch.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with a reception to follow where light snacks and refreshments will be served allowing time for friends to continue sharing stories and memories of Elaine.
