Elinor Hunter passed away on February 8, 2008 at 83 years of age. She will always be remembered by her husband Bruce, children Bob (Donna) Hunter of Sparwood BC, Dave (Bonnie) Hunter of Vernon BC, Carol (Ron) Dunlop of Fairwinds (Vancouver Island) BC, and Ron Hunter of Kamloops, 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; her two brothers Lance and Ted; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by mother and father, her stepmother, and sister in-law.

Elinor was born in Vancouver BC on May 30, 1924. She received her schooling in Vancouver and graduated from King Edward High in 1942. She worked as a riveter for Boeing Aircraft during the war. Elinor met Bruce in 1945 and they were married on August 31, 1946. They moved to Armstrong BC and resided on the Family Farm for some time before acquiring their own home. They lived there for 12 years before moving to Kamloops. When Bruce retired in 1979 they bought a lakeshore lot in Chase and built the home of their dreams. They had 24 wonderful years there before Elinor was forced to move to a care home in Kamloops, Berwick on the Park, due to her diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease.

Elinor was always a stay at home mother who loved her family and friends, and she took great pride in caring for them. She was an avid outdoor person and was involved in many activities. She was an accomplished swimmer and belonged to the Vancouver Swimming Club for several years before she was married.

Flowers gratefully declined. The family would appreciate donations in Elinor’s memory to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada.
