In loving memory ~
The family of Elizabeth Anne Foster is saddened to announce her passing, peacefully at Shuswap Lake General Hospital on February 24th, 2022, after a brief illness.
Liz was born in New Barnet, Hertfordshire, England, to Alec and Ethel White. She emigrated to Vancouver, BC in April 1970, where she later met her husband Eric Vernon Foster. They moved to Salmon Arm in January, 1983.
When Liz moved to Salmon Arm she joined the Hospital Auxiliary of Shuswap Lake General Hospital and was responsible for organizing their fashion shows for many years. She remained a member for 23 years.
In 1996 Liz became a charter member of the Daybreak Rotary Club. Rotary was a large part of her life and she remained a member until her death. She was a past president of the club and volunteered for many of their events, as well as taking minutes at meetings.
She was a member of the Board of Directors of the North Okanagan Conservative Association and volunteered as Office Manager during several of their campaigns, as well as volunteering for the BC Liberal Party. She also served on the Board of the Shuswap Music Festival Association, as well as volunteering for the Salmon Arm Seniors Resource Centre, and took minutes for many other groups in Salmon Arm. She was a much respected and loved member of the community.
Liz was predeceased by her husband Eric. She is survived by her brother, Christopher White of Scotland, three step-children, David (Sheryl), Douglas (Susan) and Katherine Green (Richard), 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as well as her beloved little dog Nikki.
The family wishes to especially thank the Community Care nurses and the Shuswap Lake General Hospital nurses for their care of Liz during her final days, as well as her many special friends for their help and support.
A Celebration of Life for Liz will be held in June. In lieu of flowers donations to the Shuswap Branch of the BC SPCA would be most appreciated.
