Elizabeth (Betty) Emily Hoglund passed away peacefully in Hillside Village, Salmon Arm, BC on April 15, 2010 at the age of 80 years.
Born in Powell River, BC on March 9, 1930, she has been a resident of Salmon Arm most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband Ralf Hoglund, local barber, on September 3, 1991. Betty is survived by her sister, Bardy Cole of Hagensborg, BC, a brother, Donald Hughes of Coquitlam, and many nieces and nephews. Betty also leaves her daughter Lorna who resides in England, as well as host of faithful friends in the community.
Betty’s Beauty Bar was a popular hair salon for many years where she got to know many local residents and trained others who still continue to operate hair salons.
Betty is well remembered for her gentle kindness and generosity. For the last 30 years Betty was best known for her full time ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Always well dressed, she talked to all of God’s promise to restore the earth to paradise. She looks forward with confidence to a resurrection on a paradise earth in the near future.
The memorial service will be held from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 721 2nd street, S.E. Salmon Arm on Saturday afternoon, May 1st at 2 p.m. with Ron Poustie officiating. A time of refreshments will follow allowing the friends to share memories.
