The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Salmon Arm, on Saturday morning, March 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Father George LaGrange OMI the Celebrant.
Musical selections by Timothy Weiker, with words of remembrance shared by Elsie's grandchildren.
Interment will follow in the family plot in Mt Ida Cemetery, Salmon Arm, with a reception, catered by the CWL, back in the church basement.
Elsie de Boer (Elske) was born and raised in Friesland, Netherlands. As a young bride she immigrated to Canada with the love of her life, Simon. They raised their family of 10 children while dairy farming at various locations in BC.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Charlotte, son Harry, daughter Susie and husband, Simon.
She is survived by their 8 other children and their spouses, 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Elsie was particularly happy in her last years at her home in Piccadilly Terrace. She had a great appreciation and zest for life and will be missed by many.
She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her family and friends.
