Esther Maria Teto (nee Kotala) died peacefully in Hillside Village, Salmon Arm, BC on the morning of Monday, August 2, 2010 at the age of 88 years. A family graveside service was held where she was laid to rest next to her late husband, Henry Teto, deceased on May 21, 2008, in the family plot, at Solsqua Cemetery. The pallbearers’ were Gordon Ylisto, Ron Ylisto, Stan Kramer, Monty Kallio, Roy Teto and Ray Teto. This was followed by a celebration of life service at Cambie Community Hall, East of Sicamous, on Saturday August 7th.
Esther immigrated to Canada from Finland in the 1950’s. In 1958 she married Henry Teto and together they lived in the small community of Cambie. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Ray, her son, Roy, daughter-in-law, Judy, and grandchildren, Niina, Raphael and Aleksina. Esther is also survived by 3 sisters, all living in Finland, Eini Värinen, Elvi Rantamäki and Elma Kotala.
Her family would like to extend their gracious heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hillside Village in Salmon Arm who made Esther feel at home and cared for her throughout her residence there.
