June 26, 1937 - July 14, 2018
Eugene Saburo Ogino passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital. He was 81 years old.

Eugene was born in Vancouver, BC on June 26, 1937. He attended Elementary and High School in Revelstoke, BC. He received his Bachelor of Education from UBC. In 1959, Eugene married Naomi Sakamoto and together they had three children, Tracy, Michael and Brett. He taught for four years in Lillooet before moving to Salmon Arm, where he continued his teaching career.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Tracy and is survived by his wife, Naomi and sons, Michael and Brett (Vivian). He touched many lives during his 35 years as a teacher. Eugene was a very social person. His passion was playing tennis and he was very involved in the local tennis scene. He also enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and organized groups for many years. He enjoyed fishing the local lakes as well as ocean fishing. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sept. 15th at the Salmon Arm Elk's Hall, 3690 30th St. NE. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
