Eva Elizabeth Wilcox (nee Bartlett) passed away peacefully in Bastion Place with her family present. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert “Bob”, three sons (and daughters-in-law), Rick (Sharon), Tom (Cathy) and Don (Jocelyn) along with four granddaughters, Christine, Jacqueline, Meghan and Caitlin. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Alice Bartlett and brother, Pem Bartlett.

Eva lived in and around Kamloops for 60 years, moving in retirement to Abbotsford and then to Salmon Arm for the past five years. She served in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps from 1942 - 1946, was a past Executive Officer in the Royal Canadian Legion, Kamloops Branch and served as Mt. Paul District Commissioner for the Brownies and Girl Guides in Kamloops. Eva was a committed volunteer to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, serving continually including the 2007 campaign. Her warm sincere personality, along with her loving nature and rich sense of humour, touched all who came to know her. She will be deeply missed by both family and friends.

Thank you to Dr. Warren Bell and the staff of Bastion Place for the outstanding care and consideration given to Eva and the family over the past month.

A memorial service will be held at the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Mt. Ida Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Eva Wilcox.
