Evelyn Gertrude Goodrich passed away peacefully in Bastion Place, Salmon Arm, BC on March 12, 2011 at the age of 98 years.

Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on September 22, 1912, Evelyn was a long time resident of Chilliwack before moving to Vernon in the late 1970’s, later moving to Salmon Arm to be close to her son, becoming a resident of Bastion Place in August of 2000. She commented many times “this was the best home she had in her life.” Evelyn was blessed with a full and active life, including years with the I.O.D.E. Lodge, as well a life member of the Order of the Royal Purple.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ray in 1980; and brother, Vernon Shannon.

Evelyn leaves her loving family, son and daughter in law, Earl and Gail Goodrich of Salmon Arm, 2 granddaughters, Susan Price of Williams Lake, Wendy (John) Knapik of Nelson; 4 great grandchildren, Blair, Amanda, Brad and Mark; 1 great great granddaughter, Ayrilee.

A celebration of life service will be held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on the morning of Saturday, June 4th at 11 a.m. with Jim Johnson officiating, Catherine Kroetch the soloist. Tributes will be shared by family and friends. A reception will follow in the Mountainside room at Bowers.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society, BO Box 3451, Salmon Arm, BC VIE 4S2, or the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, 4480 Oak Street, B321, Vancouver, BC V6H 3V4 in memory of Evelyn.
