Ev was loved by her husband Bill (who passed away last year), and 3 daughters Joan Murdoch-Bieber (Dave), Kathy Morales (Jesse), Barb Henderson (Deane), Filipina daughter Sonia Alejandro (Noel), 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with two more on the way. She is survived by her dear younger sister Renie.
Ev grew up in the loving Wright family on their dairy farm in Steveston, BC. She met her beloved Bill as a young teacher in Pender Harbour. Over her lifetime she was a passionate volunteer for the IODE, MS Society, Thyroid Foundation, Brighouse United Church, University Women's Club and Girl Guides. She treasured time with family, hosted all her grandchildren at age ten for fabulous birthday trips and many special reunions. She kept diligent photo diaries of family celebrations, reunions and travel.
Ev supported Bill's adventurous career in the fishing industry in Nova Scotia, India, the Philippines and back to BC. While in India she taught macrame and helped start "Evelyn's Handicrafts" which supported local entrepreneurs. She enjoyed sewing (active member of Textile Arts Guild of Richmond), playing bridge, baking, creating dolls and quilts. She valued education and completed her Bachelor of Education at Mt. St. Vincent University in 1975 while raising her three girls.
Special thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Shuswap Lodge where Ev spent her last few years, Dr. Darren Lorenz as well as the doctors and nurses at Shuswap Lake Hospital.
