With great sadness, we announce the passing of Evelyn who died peacefully at the Piccadilly Care Home on June 4, 2017.

She is survived by John, her loving husband of 72 years, and her three children, daughters Veronica (Johnson), Mimi (Barbour) and her son Dan. She was blessed with five grandchildren who will miss her terribly and five wonderful great-grandchildren who made her very proud.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba – February 7, 1929 – Evelyn met her devoted husband at the tender age of sixteen, married him, and after 18 years, they moved to British Columbia. Living in Vancouver, a short time on Vancouver Island and a stint in the Yukon, Evelyn and her husband finally settled in the Shuswap area.

Evelyn was a great friend to many and treated everyone with respect and kindness. She loved to collect everything from owls to angels and spoons to fancy tins. Along with her husband, she was a long-time member of the Salmon Arm Lions Club. For some time, she volunteered at the library in Canoe, the small town where they lived for a number of years until moving into Salmon Arm. Her favorite pastime was reading and this woman could finish off a Harlequin in one day with the next one waiting.

Eve was a sweet soul who will be sadly missed, loved and forever remembered by her family and friends. May God bless her and have his angels welcome her into their loving arms.
