With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Evelyn Murray, after a three year struggle with throat cancer and sclera-derma.

Evelyn was born in Kamloops, grew up in North Kamloops, and graduated from Kamloops High School. She was married and also raised her family in North Kamloops, then retired to Chase in 1993 with her husband. She will be missed by her many life-long friends from her interests in gardening, curling, golf, and bridge.

Predeceased by her two brothers, her parents, and by her husband of 56 years GK (Kinley) Murray, she is lovingly remembered by her surviving sister: Muriel (Stanley) Moore; her 4 children: Christopher (Mona) Murray of Monte Lake BC, Laurel (Dennis) Baldwin of Langley BC, Daryl (Kelly) Murray of Barriere BC, and Cynthia (Brad) Armstrong of Rocky Mountain House AB; her 10 Grandchildren: Terrance Murray, Rebecca Murray Jeffries & Alana Daykin Murray; Karissa, Rylee & Brennen Murray; Hugh Baldwin; Travis, Kassandra & Corin Armstrong; her 3 Great-Grandchildren Natsuko Murray, Jacob Dean, and Riley Stewart.; her sisters-in-law: Jean Stanley, Florence Case, Marilyn Lumsden, her brothers-in-law Jack, Angus, & Alistair Murray; and her many nieces, grand-nieces, nephews and grand-nephews on both the Stanley and Murray sides of the family.

The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the sensitive and excellent care from Dr. Chris Outram and his staff, and from the wonderful staff and volunteers at Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice, where Mom spent her final six months. Her wish is that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Marjorie Willoughby Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Cres. South, Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9.

A Remembrance Tea in celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held in the Dogwood Room at the North Shore Community Centre, 730 Cottonwood Avenue, on Saturday, October 13th, 2007 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM. There will be music, refreshments and memories – friends and family welcome.
