January 26, 1935 - October 21, 2024
In loving memory ~
Fabiola (nee Leclaire) passed away peacefully in her home on October 21, 2024. She is survived by daughters Denise, Colette, Suzanne, Nina (Todd), grandchildren Jennifer, Laura, Katie, Erika, Deanna, Darcy, Samantha, Stephanie, Robert and Amanda, great-grandchildren Heidi, Camille, Leo, Watson, Daisy, Eva and Sabrina, brothers Clement and Ronald, sisters Noella and Clarisse and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years Georges, her parents Irenee and Liliane Leclaire, her sisters Claire and Isabelle, grand-daughter Alexandra and son-in-law Terry. Fabiola was born in St Boniface, Manitoba and grew up in St. Adolphe, Manitoba where her family ran the local post office out of their home. After high school she worked in an office in Winnipeg until her marriage.
She met Georges when he came with his father to paint the Leclaire house. Their first outing together was a double date with Georges' cousin Lisette and her brother Clement for a Sadie Hawkins dance. They married in September 1956 and eventually settled in St. Norbert to raise their family.
Once the kids were all in school, she went back to work as crew chief at MacDonalds, then Bonanza Restaurants for a short time while going to secretarial school. Once she completed her studies, she worked as a secretary for the department of Natural Resources for the Manitoba Provincial Government until she retired. She and Georges moved to Salmon Arm in 2006 where they spent their remaining years together.
Georges and Fab were members of the Belgium Club where she and Georges went to many functions which ignited their passion for ballroom dancing. She also loved crocheting, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. She left us with many precious memories of holiday get togethers, gardening and puzzling. The family would like to extend our thanks to Vaughn, Pat, and Wendy as well as Dr's Keith and Laura Hepburn for their support, concern and kind care.
