Frederick Lewis Stuart passed away suddenly at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the age of 84 years.

Born in Calgary on July 6, 1926, Fred served 28 years with the Royal Canadian Engineers. On receiving his discharge from the army in 1972 he moved to B.C., working for the Department of Highways until 1985 and then working with his son doing landscaping.

Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary; children, Linda Joy of Stony Plain, AB and Doug (Shirley) Stuart of Blind Bay; grandchildren, Dallas Joy of Sherwood Park, Connie (Colin) Duncan of Surrey, Deborah (Bryn) Leary of Pinantan Lake, Shelley (Ray) LaLiberte of Victoria and James Stuart of Vernon; great-grandchildren, Judah and Kaysie; brother, Alfred (Sharon) Stuart of Turner Valley, AB and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Catherine.

A celebration of Fred’s life will be held from the Blind Bay Community Hall on Friday, September 17th at 1:30 pm with Jack Bowers, celebrant. Interment of Fred’s cremated remains will follow in the Blind Bay Cemetery.
