George’s passion was farming all his life. That included mixed farming, dairy farming and grain farming. It was in Salmon Arm that his love of fruit lead to hobby farming his favourite fruits like cherry, apple, apricot and Saskatoon berries. He was known for his vivid imagination, amazing story telling which captivated his listeners and his contagious sense of humour, He enjoyed oil painting, gardening, reading, and music, both classical and Christian. It was imperative that all his children were given the opportunity for music lessons on various instruments. He was a faithful husband and wonderful father. George’s life was centered in his love for the Lord Jesus Christ and he served Him at home, in the church and in the community. He was a man of strong faith, character and convictions.

George’s family was very important to him. He and Mary celebrated 63 years of marriage before she passed on in 2006. He loved his seven children, 23

grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren. He was never happier than when he was holding and playing with the young children.
