George Lepp of Salmon Arm, BC went to be with his precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on August 14, 2008 at Bastion Place. He was 88 years old.

He was born in Ukraine (Georgfthar, Fuerftrenrand, South Russia) January 14, 1920. In 1926, he immigrated with his parents and siblings to Canada.

On route, one brother, Abe passed away in Latvia and on arrival in Canada, another brother, Andrew, passed in Plum Coulee, Manitoba. He, along with

sister Tina and brothers, Pete, Henry, and Jack were raised on a farm near Rivers, Manitoba.

He met his sweetheart, Mary Driedger and they were married May 22, 1943. Together they were blessed with seven children. They farmed at Rivers until 1958 and moved to Brookdale, Manitoba continuing to farm. In 1981 they semi-retired to Brandon and then in 1986 moved to Salmon Arm, BC.

George’s passion was farming all his life. That included mixed farming, dairy farming and grain farming. It was in Salmon Arm that his love of fruit lead to hobby farming his favourite fruits like cherry, apple, apricot and Saskatoon berries. He was known for his vivid imagination, amazing story telling which captivated his listeners and his contagious sense of humour, He enjoyed oil painting, gardening, reading, and music, both classical and Christian. It was imperative that all his children were given the opportunity for music lessons on various instruments. He was a faithful husband and wonderful father. George’s life was centered in his love for the Lord Jesus Christ and he served Him at home, in the church and in the community. He was a man of strong faith, character and convictions.

George’s family was very important to him. He and Mary celebrated 63 years of marriage before she passed on in 2006. He loved his seven children, 23

grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren. He was never happier than when he was holding and playing with the young children.
