Dad went to heaven peacefully on February 8, 2017 with family by his side.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Annie, by his brothers Edward, Russell, Earl, and Floyd, by his sisters Eva and Edna, and by his daughter Vicky.

Dad is lovingly remembered by many family members and friends.  He is survived by his children Cheryl (Doug), Jerry (Randy), Dayle  (Rob), Warren (Linda), Rick (Dianne), Ken (Virginia) and Heath (Maria).  His legacy lives on through many grandchildren whom he loved: Sandi, Ausstina, Ausstin, Jeffrey, Jedidiah, Thaddaeus, Nehemiah, Isaiah, Keriah, Vicky, Josh, Amy, Sybil, Nicole, Melody, Rebecca, Naomi, Carmen, Miranda, and Desiree.  He treasured visits with numerous great-grandchildren.  Many nephews, nieces, and extended family have wonderful memories of times shared with him.

Dad loved the outdoors and began his working life on a ranch.  Although his career path changed several times throughout his life, he remained a cowboy at heart.  He maintained a strong work ethic and did his best to provide.  In his later years, he enjoyed growing vegetable and flower gardens wherever he made his home and neighbours soon became fond of him.

The family would like to thank Dr. Adrian Heunis for his years of compassionate care, Ria Van Zeeland of Ackerview Guest House who caringly met Dad’s needs each day, and nurses and care aides at Hillside Village who created an environment in which he felt loved and safe.  Words would fail to describe these angels on earth.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at Bowers Funeral Home, 440-10th Street SW in Salmon Arm, on February 17, 2017 at 11 a.m.  A tea will follow the service prior to a graveside service at Cliffside Cemetery in Enderby.
