It is with deep sadness we announce Gordon's passing after a long struggle with health issues. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Halina, his son Aaron and grandson Seth. He also leaves his brother Richard (Adeline), sisters, Ruth (Roy) Eldridge, Norma Brown, Cheryl (Mike) Rogers and sister-in- law Marilynn Brown and several nieces and nephews.
Gordon is predeceased by his son Warren, his brother Vern and sister and brother-in-law Linda and Mike Vermette.
Gordon was the third child of Richard and Mary Brown. He was born and raised in Mission and attended Mission High School. Upon graduation, he enrolled in Nanaimo Vocational School completing a heavy duty mechanics course and apprenticeship. He worked in this field for a number of years before returning to school to earn a B.Sc. and Teaching Degree from UBC. He spent the next 35 years teaching math and science in Coquitlam and Maple Ridge School Districts. He always made time for extra-curricular activities, coaching sports both in the school and in the community.
Gordon and Halina moved to Salmon Arm in 2002 after he retired and very much enjoyed the community. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Hobbies included gardening, bridge, chess and golf.
A hard working, kind gentle soul, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be forever loved and missed.
