On October 19, Gordon passed away peacefully in his sleep, following a courageous battle with heart disease. Born December 21, 1924 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, to Eileen and Lawrence Drackett, Gordon leaves to cherish his memory loving wife and best friend of 53 years, Marion; daughter Susan (Michael) Tumback; son Bob (Kelly Heiser); grandchildren Alix and Samantha Tumback, Matthew and Logan Drackett, Jesse and Torri Heiser; brother Murray (Ruth); and many close, long time friends.

After serving in the R.C.N.V.R. WW II, Gordon attended the University of Saskatchewan, graduating with a B.Sc., Agricultural (Mechanical) Engineering in 1950. Gordon spent the next 32-years with B.A./Gulf Canada, living in Regina, Toronto, Winnipeg and Calgary; followed by 4-years consulting. In 1986 Gordon retired to his lakeside home in Sorrento B.C. where he enjoyed boating, fishing, and golfing with family and friends. Winters were spent motor homing with his dear friends in Indio California and more recently in La Quinta, California.

Gordon will be remembered as a kind, humble man, who never missed an opportunity to be with family and friends.

Gordon, Dad, we will miss you so very much. We love you and you will always be in our hearts.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff and medical team at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital, the Royal Inland Hospital, and St. Paul’s Hospital (Vancouver).

A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held on Saturday, November 7, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm, at The Calgary Petroleum Club (319-5th Ave SW Calgary).
