Harold William Trimbee passed away last week after a brief illness at the age of 93 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Peggy in 2006 and is survived by his son Robert (Lynne) Trimbee, daughter Robin (Ian) Mowat, grandchildren Rob, Kim, Kevin (Annette) Trimbee, Val (Peter) Mohart, Heather (Wally) Smith, great grandchildren Gillian, Kieran, Brett Trimbee and Griffin, Kinnon Smith and Rebecca Mohart.

Harry and Peggy resided on a garden filled acreage in Enderby for the last 30 years.

Harry served as a flying instructor in the commonwealth air training plan during WWII. Later he remustered pilots that had been shot down in the war. He was the first president of Eagle Valley Flying Club and often flew people to hospitals in larger centers for emergency medical treatment.

Harry grew up in Toronto and moved west to BC in 1946. He built the Avoca Lodge, now the Skyline in Craigellachie. He drove the school bus from Three Valley to Sicamous in the 50’s.

Harry was a charter member of the Salmon Arm Legion and could be seen almost daily shooting pool and having a small beer in a large glass. He continued this routine until the week before his death.

In 2007 Harry moved to Lander’s Lodge. His happy go lucky personality will be missed by all.

We’ve lost one of the good guys. You did well “Humble Harry.”
