It is with sadness that we announce the passing on July 7, 2011, of Harry Horace Williams, age 88, of Kelowna, after a short bout with bone cancer. Harry was born in Wales on Dec. 6, 1922, and immigrated to Rutland with his family in 1928. Harry and his wife, Mary, were well known at musical and sporting events in Salmon Arm, showing support for their family here.

Harry is survived by his wife Mary, who was his lifelong love and soul mate of almost 64 years; his daughters Linda(Bob) Jensen of Langley and their children, Lanni(Jeff) Bockhodt, and Kirsten; Janet (Steve) Naylor of Salmon Arm, and their children Stephanie and Scott; his son, Richard, of Peace River, Alberta and his sons Kody and Kadyn; and Lanni’s two children, Taryn and Jacob. Harry will be remembered as a gentleman and a gentle man who always put his family first.

A private graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 16 in Kelowna. Those who knew and loved Harry are invited to join in the celebration of his life on Sunday, July 31 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bennett House at 1986 Bowes Street in Kelowna. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kelowna Hospice House, where Harry spent his final weeks, would be most appreciated.
