Henry Gordon Butters passed away peacefully at Shuswap Lake General, Salmon Arm on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 at the age of 82 years. There will be a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation in Henry's name would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the Shuswap Lake General Hospital Staff for their compassion and care for Henry.
Henry was born in Calgary, Alberta on November 7, 1938. While living in Calgary he worked as a Canada Customs Officer at the International Airport and owned a number of small businesses. He moved to Vernon in 1988 and was a successful salesman for Mac Tools.
In 1993, he moved to Salmon Arm and became a valued employee of Nufloors for 29 years. Henry volunteered many hours in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 and was a Past President and a Lifetime Member. In his earlier years he enjoyed being outdoors and camping.
Later on, collecting railroad memorabilia, baseball cards, die cast cars and Coca Cola memorabilia were his hobbies.
Henry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ellie; son, Wayne (Lynn); daughter, Heather (Greg) Harper; grandson, Scott (Brooke) and granddaughters, Megan and Kayla. Also surviving are his two brothers, David and Frank and his sister, Anne Coupland.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Deanna in 1997.
