Irene Agnes Hartnoll passed away peacefully, with her loving son by her side, on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Good Samaritan, Hillside Village, Salmon Arm at the age of 99 years.
Irene was born, Irene Agnes Martin on January 3, 1912 at Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of James Martin of Kilbirnie, Scotland and Helen Dunnett of Portland, Maine. After the death of her mother and father, during the flu epidemic of 1918, Irene was adopted by Robert and Margaret Martin of Toronto.
She was predeceased by her parents, loving husband of 52 years, Wm. E. Hartnoll, sister Jean Whittington, brothers Gordon Beswetherick and Gregg Coulson as well as her niece Sandra Coulson.
Irene is survived by her sister Olive Sinzheimer of Cape May, New Jersey, sister in law Rose of Capreol, ON, daughter Susan Gebauer of Windom, Mn, and son Wm. “Beau” Hartnoll of Sicamous, BC. She was the loving aunt of David Sinzheimer, Overland Park, KS. Bill Sinzheimer, Auburn Hills, MI, Carol MacDowell, Southern Ontario, David Whittington, Panama, Brenda Coulson and Wendy Briscoe, both of Capreol, ON and their families.
Irene will be remembered for her kind and generous manner and love of animals.

Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Fischer’s Funeral Services where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Chaplain Bill Kiesman officiating. Visitation will also be held on Monday, October 3, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. from Peel Chapel, Turner and Porter Funeral Directors, Mississauga, Ontario. Interment will follow at 2:30 on October 3, at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery with Pastor Len Habermehl officiating.
