Irma Anneli Ulvila, nee Aittakari, passed away peacefully February 22, 2011 in Vernon, BC at the age of 78. She was predeceased by her parents Tyyne and Uuno Aittakari of Finland and her husband Paul in 2000. Irma corresponded with Paul for 14 years before she immigrated to Canada in 1975 to marry him. Irma and Paul resided in Chase.
Irma was born in Merikarvia, Finland where her ashes will be buried. She is survived by her brother Jorma (Liisa) and her nephew Jari, of Finland.
Irma’s passions were her cats and her flowers. She loved her roses, cacti and the night’s princess and produced beautiful blooms on them.
Many thanks to all who provided care, support, and friendship for Irma during the past few years.
A service and reception will be held at Bowers Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 2nd at 1 pm.
