December 25, 1970 - April 7, 2019
On Sunday, April 7th, 2019, Ivy Matheson, mother, daughter, sister, and friend passed away from cancer, at the 48 age of years old. Ivy is the wife to Corey James Matheson of Salmon Arm; mother to Abby and Luke Matheson of Salmon Arm; daughter to Joyce Greenaway of Kelowna, predeceased by her loving father Harold; sister to Peter Greenaway (Sandra) and nephews (Nic and Jon), of Calgary; daughter-in-law to Ninna Viesulas of Hamilton, Montana, predeceased by Step-father Bruce; daughter-in-law to Mac Matheson of Kelowna and brothers-in-law to Joe (Joanne) and Nephew (Zach) of White Lake, and Matt (Tara) and nieces (Kaia and Uma) of North Vancouver.

Ivy was born in Kamloops on December 25th, 1970 and grew up in Kelowna, British Columbia. Ivy has a close and loving family and a large circle of friends. The relationships Ivy made in her youth remained with her throughout her life, and she added countless special friends along her journey.

Ivy met the love of her life, Corey, during their high school years in Rutland. They moved together to Mackenzie and Vancouver before settling in Salmon Arm in 1996, where they were married and raised their family.

Ivy studied horticulture at Capilano College in Vancouver, which lead to a life-long passion for gardening. Through her business, Mums in the Garden, Ivy became well known in the Shuswap, both for her vibrant personality and creative landscape designs which can be seen throughout the community.

Ivy was active and in the outdoors whenever possible. She loved nature, hiking, kayaking, skiing, camping, travelling, walking her dogs, and puttering in her garden. But her life was driven by the love she had for her children and her rock, Corey. She always valued spending time with her friends, from all walks of life, and applied kindness to every situation. She will be missed.
