June 5, 1932 - March 16, 2019
After a life well lived with countless friendships and accomplishments, Jim passed away on the morning of Saturday, March 16 with his wife Joyce by his side.
Jim was a kind, gentle soul who welcomed everyone with open arms and a giant hug. He was our rock - a life-long learner, an avid builder, and cherished confidant. His experience and wisdom was readily available when called upon. Jim was a social butterfly - whether it was a dance, a round of golf, flying model airplanes, or playing pool with buddies. Jim's smile stretched ear to ear when spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by wife Joyce, his brother Garth (Donna), his children: Barry (Betty), Brian, Kathy (Kim) Gavel, Michelle (Jim) Mcleod, Kevin (Bonnie), his step children; Kevin Moonen, Kent Moonen, and Kelley (Darren) Fantin, grandchildren; Stacy (Graham), Jaclyn (Steve), Chad (Nadine), Tony (Jennifer), Stephanie (Jordan), Dylan (June), Catarenia (Steve), Jennifer (Ben), Christina (Clinton), Carmella (Dalton), Christopher (Katie), Courtney (Rob), Shealeen, Kaylin (John) and twenty great and great-great grand kids.
He was predeceased by his first wife Elsie, parents; Walter and Gladys, sisters; Evelyn (Bob) and Doreen 'Mickey' (Ron) and brother Keith (Dorothy).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Jim, 11 am on Saturday April 20, 2019 at Bowers Funeral Chapel, Salmon Arm.
