In Loving Memory ~
Jean-Jacques (John) Lahaie passed away February 7, 2023 in Salmon Arm, B.C. at the age of 83 years.
John is survived by his wife, Rita, a daughter Jacqueline (Michael), a grandson Samuel, of Nova Scotia, a granddaughter Kathleen, also from Nova Scotia, a great granddaughter, Hannah from Prince Rupert, a brother Rene from Grande Bay, Quebec and a sister Solange, from Montreal.
John was born in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec on September 16, 1939. The family then moved to Val d’Or, Quebec.
John joined the Air Force in 1957 and achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He married Rita in 1959 and they had one daughter, Jacqueline.
During active duty in the military, the family moved from coast to coast across Canada and to Italy and Germany.
He and Rita retired in 1991 and moved to beautiful Sicamous, B.C.
John’s hobbies were many: travelling, flying, hunting, fishing, boating and woodworking. He was actively involved in Search and Rescue with ground, air and waters of the Shuswap and Okanagan areas.
He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bowers Funeral Chapel in Salmon Arm on February 25, 2023 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to be made to Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue, Station 106 – Shuswap, P.O. Box 661, Sicamous, B.C. V0E 2V0.
