Apr 20, 1965 - Dec 2, 2017
Jeff was not one to seek compassion. He wanted it known that he died as a result of living life on his own terms, being stubborn, refusing to follow doctors' orders, and raising hell for more than five decades. He skidded out of his life sideways, totally worn out, shouting Holy $hit what a Ride!

His heaviest and most difficult burden was leaving behind his pride and joy: his only son, Andrew. His sweet daughter Jessica precedes him in death. He will be deeply missed by his loving parents Gary and Yvonne, his brother Phillip, and his sister Elizabeth, all of Hamilton, Ontario.

Jeff was born on April 20th, 1965 in Hamilton, Ontario. He called many places home, eventually settling in Malakwa, BC. He spent years creating and maintaining his little piece of paradise, known by the locals as Pirates Cove.

He enjoyed building magnificent fires, tie-dyeing, hard work, road trips to Ontario, and adventures with Miss Mutt. Jeff loved to tell stories, and you could be sure 50% of every story was true. You just never knew which 50%.

In 2012, Jeff reunited with his biological mother Mary, and his family circle widened with two maternal siblings, Marinette and Maitlynd.

In 2013, Jeff reunited with his biological father Ray (predeceased), and again his family circle expanded with thirteen paternal siblings: Ray Jr., Juanita, Derek, Tanya, Antoinette, Natasha, Ramona, Heidi, Gabrielle, Mercedes, Genevieve, Justin, and Troy (predeceased).

Jeff made a valiant effort to create strong bonds with all three of his families. Our brief time together was full of exciting and extraordinary experiences, leaving us with memories that will last a lifetime.

The family would like to thank his friends: Julia, Janine, Rhona, John & Bobbie, Cam & Paula, Krystal & Dody, Bonnie & Ernie, Sharon & Dell, Audrey, and Don for their care, concern and dedication. Each of their contributions assured a better quality of life for Jeff.

The family would additionally like to thank all of his medical staff for their efforts, and kindness throughout Jeff's history with mental illness and COPD.

A final thank you to his social worker John Brown for his ongoing support, acceptance, and many impromptu check-in visits.

At Jeff's request, cremation has taken place. Plans for a memorial gathering are underway and details will be posted at the Malakwa Cafe.

All are welcome to join in a celebration of Jeff's life.
