It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Jeremy Richard Pryor on Sunday October 2, 2016. Jeremy was born in Oxford, England to Aimee and Norman Pryor and shared his young life with his big brother Robin as riotous day school boys at the Kings College and New College schools.

His great love of adventure and sport started very early and took him into the life of the rock climber. He climbed and bouldered throughout Scotland and Wales and many parts of England. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 and loved his adopted country. He was proud to be a Canadian.

He met his wife Marcia at a Toronto Alpine Club meet in Val David, Quebec. They married in 1960 and their marriage, that began on the rocks, lasted 56 years.

Two sons, Jeremy and Jonathan were his pride and joy. He led by example and gave them his guidance and enthusiasm for the many activities they enjoyed.

In later life he became a marathoner and triathlete and participated in many competitions. His greatest challenge and accomplishment was the completion of the Hawaiian Ironman in 1984 to celebrate his 50th birthday.

Jeremy and Marcia left Toronto for Salmon Arm, B.C. in 1993 to live amongst the mountains. They found much happiness in the beautiful and welcoming town and their Lost Herd Farm

Jeremy was a loving husband and soul mate to his wife and a devoted father and grandfather.  He will be sadly missed by his son Jeremy and Sarah, his grandchildren Matthew and Natalie, his son Jonathan and Carol, his brother Robin and Nancy and his many nephews and nieces, family and friends. He was the gentlest of men.

Jeremy’s Poem

Through the window Orion shone bright.

Nearby snow patches glowed in a mystical light.

Annapurna, Machapuchare showed their wondrous heights.

On a cold Himalayan star lit night.
