July 28, 1926 - December 22, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Jessie Green announces her peaceful passing at Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong BC on December 22, 2021. She was born in Rothesay, Isle of Bute, Scotland on July 28, 1926 and came to Canada with her family in May, 1927 to live in Renown Saskatchewan. They lived on the farm in Saskatchewan until moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1940. She continued on to Salmon Arm in June, 1945.
Jessie lived with her family in South Canoe. She worked picking fruit, as a telephone operator and was a long-term employee at Beers department store where she was a clerk and buyer for ladies clothing.
In November 1949 she married Morris Loring and had two sons Terry Douglas and Morris Allen. Her husband Morris died in an accident in 1955. She later married Bob Green in 1959 and had a daughter Beverley Shawnette.
Jessie lived on North Broadview for 34 years before moving to 9th Ave in Salmon Arm where she resided until September, 2021. Jessie's hobbies were gardening, knitting, sewing and crafts. She was especially passionate about playing games, her favourite being crib. She was an amazing baker whose pastry was the very best.
Her greatest joy was her family, they were very precious to her and she loved to spend time with them and to be involved in their lives. Family houseboat holidays on Shuswap Lake were her favourite where she could appreciate the beauty of the lake and be close to her family.
Jessie was the heart and soul of her family and they will miss her incredible love and laughter.
Jessie was predeceased by her husbands Morris Loring in 1955 and Bob Green in 2011. Her parents Lachlan and Mary as well as her siblings Peter, Donald, Kay and June. Her grandson BJ Henry in 2000 and her son Terry Green in 2019.
