On November 23, 2011, Joe passed away in the Port McNeill hospital. He was predeceased by his wife Lola of 58 years on October 8, 2008.
Joe will be missed by his children: Linda Boesch, Gordie Zilinski, Bonnie Shepherd and Kevin Zilinski, as well as many relatives, grandchildren and friends. (Dad finally gets to be with Lola.)
