John Andrew Shewchuk passed away at the age of 71 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital on August 6, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. The Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, August 24, 2024, at Fischer's Funeral Home, 4060 1st Ave SW, Salmon Arm.
John was born in New Westminster on February 26, 1953, moving to White Rock and then to Salmon Arm. It was there that he met Frieda and they married in 1971. John worked for many years at the Canoe Brands plywood plant before turning his hobbies into a business working for himself before he retired in 2018.
John is survived by his children Michelle (Kelly) and Devon, his grandchildren Sierra, Cheyenne and Atlas (Sol), his great-grandchildren Hunter, Lily and Willow, his sister Valerie, as well as many cousins he had so much fun growing up with. John was predeceased by his wonderful wife Frieda, his parents Steve and Lorna and his brothers Fred and Lorne.
