John Sayer passed into the arms of the Lord on October 8, 2008 at Piccadilly Care Center in Salmon Arm, BC.

An honour guard service will be held at St, Andrew’s and All Saints Church, Chase, BC on Thursday afternoon, October 16th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Crosby officiating. Cremation with interment to follow.

Born in New Westminster, BC on September 21, 1921, John had been an active resident of Chase and the church community for many years. Among

many life time accomplishments and one of his most treasured times was his volunteer aid work with Families for Children in India and Bangladesh.

He was predeceased by his first wife, of 52 years, Alice Sayer. John is survived by his loving wife, Anneke Mercks-Sayer; three daughters, Jacquie

Lowndes of Logan Lake, Jo Ann (Sandor) Juhasz of North Vancouver, Judy (Bruce) Holman of Vernon; step-son, Harmon Pogge of Edmonton; seven

grandchildren and ten and a half great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Hilda Elliot; and many nieces and nephews.

John’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Piccadilly Care Center for their loving care. Special thanks to Justin and Dr Warren Bell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of John may be sent o Cycle to Walk c/o Mailboxes Etc. 312-108 Elliot Street, Whitehorse, Yukon Territories, Y1A 6C4, to honour Ramesh Ferris and his quest to defeat polio. Rev 21: 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.
