January 14, 1963 - February 21, 2019
After a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer, John Schaap Jr. has passed away. Left to mourn deeply are his mom - (Helen Schaap), long time friend Karen, three surviving sisters - Joan (Pierre), Aida (Herb), Nora (Greg) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 2014, and his brother Menso in 2016.
John will be remembered for his humor, his infectious smile, and his soft-spoken gentle ways. He had a kind and generous giving heart, always ready to help others out. He loved Mara, nature, equipment, farming and working with his eclectic collection of 'potential treasures'. He loved to puzzle with his mom and spend time with her. John was a loyal friend, devoted to his siblings and cherished his mom.
A small gathering was held to bury him in the family plot in Salmon Arm. As a family we are very appreciative of those who walked closely with us in this journey.
