It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Karl and Elisabeth Buechner. Karl passed away after a brief hospital stay on October 13th in Salmon Arm. Elisabeth left us suddenly and unexpectedly on October 15th in Whistler, BC.
They both immigrated from Germany in 1951 and met at Christmas of that same year. But it wasn’t until June of the following year that they met again and their love story began. They were married in Kenora, Ontario on August 2nd, 1952. They spent the next 28 years there, building 2 homes and a cottage on Lake of the Woods, where they spent as much time as they could. In 1980, they moved to Salmon Arm where they built their final home together, and lived there until their passing.
Predeceased by daughter-in-law Bonnie (n. Demeria), Karl and Elisabeth are survived by son Eric, daughter Krista (Neil) and grandchildren Vaughn (Michelle), Arlen (Penelope) , Whitney (Ryan), Keeli (Charlie) and Joleen.
They always loved travelling and we believe that they are on one last grand adventure together. We wish everyone to share stories of them, hug their loved ones and never take a day for granted.
