Katherina Villeneuve passed away peacefully in Shuswap Lake General Hospital on October 13, 2008, with her family at her side, at the age of 95 years.
Born August 13, 1913 in Bainfait, SK, Katie had been a resident of Salmon Arm since 1970. For the past three years, she happily resided at the Shuswap Lodge Retirement Residence. She was a special lady who touched many people and will always be remembered.
A memorial mass for Katie was held from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Salmon Arm, on Saturday, October 18, 2008, with Father George La Grange,
OMI, officiating.
Gone to join her loving husband, Oscar, to whom she was married 64 years and 9 months, Katie was also predeceased by her son, Marvin in 1986. She
leaves to remember her, two daughters, Doreen (Hans) and Ann (Dave); eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
As the oldest of 12 children, she leaves to remember her, brothers Stephen Schaff (Lucie), Leo Schaff (Claire) and sisters, Margaret Therres (Jake) and Helena Maurer; as well as extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank the Shuswap Lodge for her excellent care and is especially grateful to Dr. Kirkman for his ongoing care, to his intern and the hospital staff during the last week of her life.
