Katrina Grace Leeming

Katrina Grace Leeming

Katrina passed away in her home after an eight year battle with brain cancer.  She is lovingly remembered by her husband and daughter, Glen and Mattison Stojcic and by her parents, Ronald and Patricia Leeming; and siblings, of which Katrina was the youngest: Susan (predeceased March 12, 2009), Jennifer, Cheryl, Amanda and Jonathan.

Katrina was a vibrant, joyful personality with a love for the outdoors, enjoying at every opportunity walks, picnics and camping with family and friends.  Passionate about her career as a lawyer, she was also thoughtful, kindhearted and generous with her time outside of her practice, involving herself in community projects through Rotary, the Red Cross and others. From an early age, Katrina was a competitive athlete of great sportsmanship.  She vigorously and enthusiastically competed in track, soccer, slow-pitch, hockey and other sports, while also in her leisure time, enjoying water sports, skiing, riding, or anything else that looked fun or challenging.  Above all her interests, however, she placed family first and was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, daughter and sister, placing the needs of family above her own interests.   She took advantage of every moment and all that life offered.  Her time with us was much too short and she is missed more than words can express.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an RESP for Katrina’s daughter, Mattison Stojcic (a Trust account has been created at Salmon Arm Savings & Credit Union), BC Cancer Agency BrainCare Project 1-888-906-2873 (online www.bccancerfoundation.com) or to BCSPCA, Shuswap Branch.

The celebration of Katrina’s life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1:00 pm, at the First Baptist Church, 3151 – 6 Avenue NE, Salmon Arm.
