November 16, 1961 - March 5, 2025
With deep sorrow we announce the unexpected passing of Kevin Darrell Sharp. Kevin was born in Calgary, Alberta before the family moved to Surrey, BC. After a few years there, his parents purchased the Oasis Campground in Osoyoos, BC. where Kevin learned many life long, practical skills including wood working, alongside working with his family at the campground. Fun memories include time swimming at the lake, making homemade rafts and boats with his brothers and even learning to barefoot waterski! When Kevin was 15, the family moved to Salmon Arm, BC where his parents bought the Salmon River Motel. After attending high school at Salmon Arm Secondary School from 1976 to 1979 he went on to obtain his real estate license where he bought 4 houses before age 24! Kevin obtained and became a Certified Irrigation and Pump Contractor as a young man and continued that profession throughout his life, servicing customers in Enderby in the early years to servicing his many long- term clients in the North Shuswap up until his passing. In the 1980's Kevin moved to Gibsons, BC for a few years to fulfill his dream of becoming a Sea Captain! He had many sea service hours in a marine environment after purchasing a large two mast sailboat named the "Espinola". Kevin made numerous, adventurous, sailing trips and voyages travelling from Gibsons, BC to many coastal countries including Mexico, Panama and Jamaica. Kevin spent his time in his beloved Negril, Jamaica where he resided for the Winter months for over 30 years before returning to his home in Lee Creek, BC in the beautiful North Shuswap for the remaining year.
Kevin was predeceased by his parents Donald and Darlene Sharp in 2023 and his sister-in law, Shannon Sharp in 2019. Kevin is survived by and will be greatly missed by his brother Tim (Lorna), Troy (Shannon deceased), and his sister Kimberly (Matt) along with his 11 nieces and nephews. He will also be missed deeply by his many cousins and friends both in Jamaica and Canada for his kindness, love, generosity, friendship and gentle spirit. Rest in paradise, dear Kevin.
