Larry Horatio Rogers, 85, of Salmon Arm, B.C., passed away on August 16th, 2020 in Salmon Arm, B.C.
Larry was born in Ashcroft, B.C, to Anne and Horatio (Ray) Rogers. He was the youngest of three sons. He grew up and went to school in Ashcroft B.C. where he enjoyed the outdoors, playing sports, helping out at his Uncle Tom's ice cream shoppe, and running the family-owned movie theatre.
He married Elizabeth (Betty) Beldam in 1955 in Chilliwack, B.C. Larry was a hard-working man who had many different jobs to support his family, including working with heavy equipment, driving a book mobile, and owning an operating a florist delivery service for many years in Chilliwack, B.C.
Larry was also passionate about music, history, sailing ships, and trains. He loved that he was able to travel with Betty and have sailing adventures with his daughter Mary in P.E.I. He took great pride in his woodworking, building crafts and toys that will be enjoyed for many years to come. Larry also enjoyed long bike rides with Betty well into their senior years.
Larry was a very outgoing, sociable person and had many friends in the Salmon Arm community where he and Betty lived happily for 25 years. Larry loved friendly dogs, going anywhere new, and a hot cup of tea.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Anne and Horatio Rogers, his brothers Jack and David, and his dear uncle Tom (Belshaw).
Larry is survived by his beloved wife Betty; his six children: Penelope (Ed) Arneson, Geoff (Lana) Rogers, Pamela (Alan) Hughes, Mary (Lisa Oliver) Rogers, Drusilla (Ron) Wasyluk, and Amy (Trace) Thomas; as well as eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
