Lauretta Marie (Lettie) Berthot passed away in Piccadilly Care home, Salmon Arm, BC on the evening of Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the age of 91 years.

A prayer service was held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Wednesday, April 13th at 7 p.m. with Jack Bowers and Catherine Kroetch presiding.

The funeral Mass of Christian Burial followed on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Salmon Arm, with Father George LaGrange OMI the celebrant. Honors were presented by fellow members of the CWL, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall provided by the church ladies. Words of remembrance were shared by Jack Bowers and Mike Henderson.

Cremation with interment on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the family plot in Mt. Ida Cemetery followed.

Pallbearers were Shari Demmon, Lyn Proskiw, Jennifer Berthot, Tracy Reimer, Bryan Berthot, Darrin Henderson, Paul Berthot.

Born in Calgary, Alberta on November 26, 1919, Lettie has been an active resident of Salmon Arm since 1956. She is well remembered for her dedication and caring with her large family, formerly working in the orchards with the Peterson Brothers, and her long career with J. Lanes Bowling, having worked with the Buresh family for some 27 years. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church which included 64 years with the CWL.

Predeceased by her son, Ken in 1980, her husband, Orville in 1983, son in law, Ralph Kryvenchuk in 2007, great grandson, Connor Demmon. Lettie was the last of her family.

She leaves her loving family, 4 daughters and 2 sons, Marlyne Kryvenchuk of Elk Point, Alberta, Joan (Fred) Demmon of Parksville, Louise (Jim) Taylor of Vernon, Ron (Maureen) of Golden, Donna (Mike) Henderson of Kamloops, Jerry (Patti) of Salmon Arm; 24 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
