With sadness we announce the passing of Laurie on Sunday, May 8th, 2011 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital at the age of 58. Those that knew her and loved her will forever remember Laurie’s compassion, love, strength, deter-mination and faith. Laurie will be cherished and missed daily by her husband Fred, daughter Jennifer Blair, son-in-law Adam Blair, granddaughter Avery Blair, sister Marya Gardiner, brother-in-law Garry Gardiner, nieces Alleesha and Latisha Gardiner, mother Dora Langlois and her many close and dear friends.

Laurie was born in Virden, Manitoba October 16th, 1952. While living in Manitoba Laurie worked hard to achieve her degree in Psychology through the University of Brandon. Upon moving to Salmon Arm, British Columbia in 1992, Laurie met and made several new and long-lasting friendships. Through making new roots for her and her daughter Jennifer, Laurie met and married Fred in 1995. Together they created and ran Frelaumey Farms in Tappen, BC. It is with no doubt, that it will be her passions for helping friends and family, along with her dedication to the Lord that will make Laurie be honored and remembered by all that knew and loved her.

As Laurie’s family, we would like to acknowledge the amazing, caring and loving nature of the outstanding nursing staff at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital. We appreciate all that you did for her and for our family during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 at 11:30 at Living Waters Church. In honor of Laurie’s love and passion for others, the family request donations are made to a missionary field of your choice in lieu of flowers.
