It is with great sadness the family of Les Greaves announce his passing, at the age of 102, at Piccadilly Place Care Center.

Les was born in North Battleford, Sask to parents Joshua and Harriet Greaves. He moved to Vancouver in 1932, where he married his wife, Gladys. The couple had 3 children; Shirley, Gary and Linda. Les founded and ran a successful real estate business in Vancouver, finally relocating to Salmon Arm in 1948. The family purchased the Glen Echo Resort, and Les started his real estate business, Salmon Arm Realty, which he would run until his retirement (although he never really retired!). Les was a prominent and successful businessman, property developer and notary public who played a large part in the development of the City of Salmon Arm. When he wasn’t working, Les loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, huntsman and gardener. Les was always smiling, whistling and joking, and his good humor and phenomenal storytelling will be missed by all who knew him.

Les is survived by his second wife; Thurayya, daughters; Shirley and Linda, grandchildren; Bruce, David, Dean, Karen, Barb, Deb and Dave Jr, great-grandchildren; Ryan, Chelsey, Eve, Tate, Maya, Callie, Justin and Kayla, great-great grandson Tristan.

The family wish to thank the staff of Piccadilly Care Center for the compassion and care they showed Les in his time there, in particular many thanks to Leanne, Justin and Fran.

Les was laid to rest at Mount Ida Cemetery on Aug 6, 2016. A private family service was held, as per Les’ wishes.
