Loretta passed away peacefully at Shuswap Lake General Hospital Wednesday June 15, 2016.
Loretta is predeceased by her father Ivan Sutherland, aunty Iva Surkan, husband John Cokran, brother Arnold Sutherland. She is survived by her daughters Michelle Rolfes (Barry), Tanya Cokran (Richard Marken), grandchildren Damon (Kendall), Helena, Jessica, Micheal and sister in law Kathryn Sutherland (Alisa and Ryan).
Loretta was born in Armstrong BC and raised in Prince George and Armstrong. After marrying John and going on a one year tour of Europe they settled and raised their family in Prince George where she spent her working career with BC Hydro. She also spent countless hours working on their farm and many more hours supporting her daughters in their pursuits. She was a loving grandmother and loved to brag about her grandchildren. After retiring Loretta moved to Salmon Arm to be closer to her brother Arnold & sister in law Kathryn, a cherished friendship that shared many precious times together.
Loretta will be remembered for her gumption, quick wit and love of Elvis. When we hear an Elvis song we will be thinking of her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bonthuys (Dr.B), the staff at Bastion Place and Shuswap Lake General Hospital for their care.
There will be no service as per her request. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the Huntington Society of Canada in Loretta’s name.
