In loving memory ~
Lynn Marie Demoline went to be with her Lord early in the morning of May 22nd, 2024.
Lynn was born in Turtleford in 1954. She and her family moved to Saskatoon for her high school years. Lynn then completed secretarial school and moved to Calgary for a position in the oil and gas industry. There, she met Jim Demoline, whom she married in 1975.
Together they moved to Bragg Creek where they bought what could be graciously described as a diamond in the rough. The home was filled with garbage, plugged toilets, and hadn't been cleaned in months. But none of that stopped Lynn from seeing the potential. Indeed, that was one of Lynn's many gifts, to see potential, in places, but even more so in people. Their two sons were born in that home, Andrew in 1982 and Shawn in 1984, and no two people can better testify to Lynn's ability to see and encourage potential. Neither could ask for a more supportive mother, nor could Jim ask for a more supportive wife. This became even clearer when the family moved to Regina in 1990 and Jim started working overseas. Lynn, brave and capable as ever, rose to the challenge of leading the family on her own every second month.
The family moved back to Calgary in 1996, where they stayed until Jim retired and they moved to Salmon Arm in 2008. In the midst of all these moves, Lynn made friends everywhere she went and stayed close to family from wherever she lived. Lynn was, in attitude and action, a good friend and a loving family member. This meant that she continued to show how much she cared for the people in her life, connected over and over again, gave incredibly thoughtful and meaningful gifts, was quick to forgive, and even quicker to step in to help others in difficult times. If you needed support Lynn was there for you with anything from an encouraging word to practical or financial help, and always with her quick humor and funny comments for laughs. Everyone knew they could talk to Lynn, and they did. But with her gracious hospitality, her sharp wit, her abundant wisdom, and her cool head there was nobody better to talk to, in the midst of anything. She will be remembered and missed by people from every stop she made along the way.
In retirement Jim and Lynn enjoyed travelling to many interesting parts of the world, taking up the sport of golfing, and spending time with their growing number of grandchildren.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband Jim, her two sons Andrew (Kristina) and Shawn (Kristin), her five grandchildren: Hannah, Ethan, Nathanael, Ellyana, and Sedona, her two step-daughters Bonnie and Kathy, as well as her siblings Louise Kyler (Brian), Gwen Kulyk, Doug Hynne (Linda), and Wendy Brown.
Lynn's celebration of life will be held at Broadview Evangelical Free Church in Salmon Arm on Saturday, June 8th at 10am.
