Passed away peacefully on May 23, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by her husband Andre in 2010. Marcelle is survived by her daughter Evelyne in Victoria, son, Philippe, daughter-in-law Jane, and granddaughters Simone and Isabel in Calgary, as well as nieces and their families in France. Marcelle was born in Pont-a-Mousson, France, November 30, 1927. She survived the German occupation of France during her teenage years. She and Andre married in 1947. After a few years in Paris, she and Andre, with their young daughter immigrated to Canada in 1951, settling in Burns Lake where their son was born. Through hard work and determination they built a good life for themselves and their children. Marcelle, a French trained hair stylist, owned and operated a beauty salon in Burns Lake for many years. They lived at Francois Lake for a number of years before moving to Salmon Arm in 1995. In 2008 they moved to Calgary to be closer to their cherished granddaughters. She was much loved and will be missed by many.
